Use of new technology to save water
Water conservation is one of the most pressing and urgent needs that we have today. Due to our indiscriminate use of our water resources, they are soon being depleted. If this indiscriminate misuse of this precious resource is carried out indefinitely, it will result in the total exhaustion of this resource which man depends on for their daily existence. He cannot survive without this resource. Hence the need for water conservation is a subject that requires our immediate attention. In our endeavor to conserve water, we can and should make use of the available and latest technology at our disposal. Some of these devices are listed below:
1. Spray taps and faucet aerators: These devices are an excellent alternative to the usual taps that provide a continuous flow of water. These taps hence achieve the same purpose with much less water.
2. Showers: The showers should not be fitted very high up on the wall and also should not be very powerful. This will result in less water being used to cover a wider surface area.
3. Options for the toilet: There is a technology that can be employed in your toilet that will help conserve a tremendous mount of water. By adjusting the ballcock of the toilet cistern, you can greatly reduce the amount of water that is used each time you flush. Working on the principle that the waste is eliminated and pushed down the drain based not on the quantity of water but on the velocity of the matter, a dual flush system can be introduced. This system will release a lower quantity of water with less velocity for liquid wastes and a slightly higher quantity of water but with a much greater velocity for clearing solid wastes.
These are just some of the ways that you can make use of new technology and advance the already existing technology so as to ensure that you have maximum water conservation and a minimum or nil amount of water wastage. Water is a very precious resource; make the best use of it to ensure that this resource will last for a long time.

For real information on water efficiency, go to the www.cuwcc.com ( The California Urban Water Conservation Coalition) or the Alliance for Water Efficiency.
If you have a toilet with a ballcock, throw it away. The same goes for a toilet with a flapper. Last do not retro-fit an old toilet to work like a dual flush toilet as that older toilet is not designed to operate on a lower water volume.
Just go buy a new Caroma Dual Flush toilet. Caroma invented the dual flush toilet and they make more water conserving toilets than any other manufacturer. Also, they are the only toilet that can flush down a baseball.
