Use clothes moth traps – Effective Traps

There are a large number of pests that can encroach upon our private dwellings. It is extremely difficult to control the various pests in the house and individuals have to make great efforts to keep the pests under control. There are pests that infest different areas and items in the house. One such type of pest is the cloth moth or also known as clothes moth. As the name suggests, clothes moths are found in the cabinets and closets where the clothes are kept. To remove these moths, there are special clothes moth traps available for the convenience of the home owners.

Eliminating the Moths

Clothes moths are considered one of the oldest earth inmates. The clothes moths feed on natural fibers and are hence found in cotton, woolen and fur clothes. The natural fibers like cotton, wool, fur and even horns contain a protein called keratin. This keratin is converted by the clothes moths into food for their consumption. Clothes moths have a special kind of enzyme present in the digestive track of the moths that help them to digest the proteins. Research studies have shown that these moths not only feed on natural fibers but on almost any product or thing. Hence, they can survive under any circumstances and therefore difficult to remove. It has also been proved that clothes moths especially survive on stained clothes. Hence, if individuals have stained clothes in their closets or stained carpets in their homes, they are inviting clothes moths. The stains contain some amount of moisture that attracts the moths.

Clothes moth traps are considered extremely helpful for eliminating these clothes moths. These traps are also known as pheromone traps. These pheromones help to lure the adult male clothes moths in the trap. Once they are lured in the trap they get stuck into it with a type of glue that does not dry. Hence the moths cannot move and eventually die or can be thrown out of the house. These traps are ideal to be installed in bedrooms, libraries and cupboards. These are the precise places where clothes moths can be found in large numbers. Hence to eliminate them the clothes moth traps must be set surely in these places. These are sure ways of removing the menace of clothes moths completely.
