Rubber toys

Rubber toys are always best toys to play in while taking bath. In addition to considering child's interests and asking what they would like, one of the most important things to keep in mind is the age recommendation for the toy. Following age criteria is important to help keep the kids safe, by avoiding toys with small parts and choking hazards for younger children. But it can also help avoid buying a toy that will not hold the child's attention and will get him easily frustrated

Toys safety and choosing right toys:

Some time rubber toys are not safe for the child less then 3 years as they tend to put all the toys in their mouth. Avoid buying toys planned for older children that may have small parts that pose a choking danger. Never let children of any age play with uninflected or broken balloons because of the choking danger. Avoid marbles, balls and games with balls. These products also pose a choking hazard to young children. Avoid toys that have sharp edges and points. Avoid toys that are constructed with thin, breakable plastic that might easily break into small pieces. Educate older children to keep their toys away from their younger brothers and sisters. For all children, adults should check toys periodically for breakage and potential hazards. Damaged toys should be repaired or thrown away.

Hearing loss and loud toys:

It is easy to spot some unsafe toys like those with sharp edges or small parts but loud toys are an under recognized hazard to children. Remember that some toys even those recommended for young children can produce noise at a level that could damage child's hearing. These types of toys include cap guns, musical toys, toy phones, horns, sirens, and even squeaky rubber toys that can produce noise. When such rubber toys held directly to the ear, as children often do, a noisy toy actually exposes the ear damaging as equivalent of a jet plane taking off. Noise at this level is painful and can result in permanent hearing loss as well. Although one likely should avoid toys that sound loud, if the child gets any toys that make noise, be sure that they do not put them up to their ear, which can cause even more damage to their hearing.
