Photo Frames
Bordering issues
A photo frame is a photo contained in a border. This is done primarily to protect the photo. It enhances the photo inside and also enables one to stick, display or hang it wherever desired.
A Souvenir
Photographs are witnesses to moments of interactions. They are memories frozen. They evoke feelings of joy, sorrow, hurt or jest. Hence, first of all, the photograph to be framed should be selected carefully. It should positively make a happy picture and one should feel nice looking at them. It should always be kept in mind that it is not only the owner, but also his/her friends that will visit a teenager's bedroom, often. Pictures of infanthood or at the tie of babyhood are a good option.
After the photo is selected, it should be laminated or covered by a good material like glass, plastic, acrylic film etc. Once the protection is taken care of, the frame has to be selected carefully. The material used for the frame could be wood, metal, glass, plastic etc.
There are numerous designs available for the frame. Moldings are oldest of them and will give it on old, more sophisticated but heavy look. Simpler ones like plain lines or ropelike texture etc. will suit a boy's bedroom. More decorative ones like heart shaped or flower motifs will add to the delicateness of a girl's bedroom.
While selecting the frame, care should be taken that the frame does not grab all the attention. It should enhance the mood of the photo inside and not overpower it. A frame should relate to the subject matter of the photograph. The material must also be selected wisely, keeping in mind that it will have to be cleaned often. Dusting is done almost everyday and good wash ability of the material will only help in keeping it cleaner and thus, fresher. The color and texture should be matching the other interior elements like furniture, curtains, wall colors etc.
Each frame may carry one photograph or it can have a composition of 4-5 pictures. A collage showing year wise growth of a teenager looks interesting.
Places to put
Photo frames can be hung on walls to nails. Composing them in a straight line or in a staggered form etc. makes for good viewing. They can even be put on the shutters of wardrobes, cupboards etc. Placing them on the study table allows a peek more frequently.
