Painting ceramic bathroom tile

Process: Painting Ceramic Bathroom Tile

To start with, the process there is a need of several equipment that will help to execute the work more easily. The equipment which take part in the process are Rubber gloves, Pad or random-orbit type power sander, Goggles, Box or window fan(recommended),Tile and grout cleaner,Vacuum,Soft burs, Lint-free dust cloth, Mildew remover ,Paint applicators (pad, brush, or soft-nap roller),Nonmetallic abrasive pad, Primer, Bucket and large sponge, Paint topcoat (100% acrylic latex),Dust mask and protective clothing, Drop cloths and painting supplies,220-grit aluminum oxide sandpaper. Before we get into painting of bathroom tile, you need to understand that adhesion is not the problem; you have to keep in mind that the finished product is only as durable as the paint film itself then the process should start.

Clean Tile and Grout:

Painting of bathroom ceramic tile is a tough job to be done. For that use a good commercial bathroom tile and grout cleaner to remove all grease, dirt, and grime. If there is mildew present then is sure to use a product designed to kill the mildew and remove any stains, for the purpose to clean use a nonmetallic abrasive pad (e.g., green scrubber pad). Rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of detergent. One should wear gloves and goggle while painting, as a protective measure.

Sand Tile:

After cleaning and grout, if we intent to assure a proper bond you must sand the tile very well. For that use a very fine (220-grit) aluminum oxide paper, which will remove the gloss without leaving telltale scratches that would telegraph through the new finish. For all but for smallest areas, use a power pad (finishing) or random-orbit type sander is very important .it is said and, claimed that sanding is unnecessary when using its well-known bonding primers, such as its water-based product Bulls eye 1-2-3. Of course, you can still sand as an extra precaution if you use this product.
