The great outdoors is warming up, taking a cue from the indoor home heating. The outdoor heating allows social gatherings and parties even during harsh winters. Outdoor heating products such as heaters, fire pits and hearths – add light, warmth and cooking surfaces to any outdoor gathering.

Outdoor Radiant Heating System

Radiant heating system warms the floor and any object in contact with the floor. It also distributes the heat evenly. In the outdoor setting, antifreeze is circulated through flexible hydronic piping, heating surface temperatures to 38oF to 40oF and averting the need to remove ice and snow. Not only that, the environment is spared from salt and chemicals.

Patio Heaters

Patio heaters are made of stainless steel and easy to assemble. They are portable. The large burner radiates heat and the heat has heavy-duty wind resistant base. Patio heaters have heat control switches to adjust the heat. The fuel used is LP or natural gas, and the burn out time for a full fuel cylinder is 10 hours. Patio heaters allow one to enjoy the chill air even after the sun goes down.

Braziers and Outdoor Fireplaces

Braziers are basically steel baskets that produce heat when briquettes are burned. Braziers are cheap to buy, install and maintain. Outdoor fireplaces are expensive to buy and install. However they are excellent heaters. The outdoor fireplace can be constructed from both iron and clay.

Tips for Outdoor Heating

1. Heating an outdoor area is a difficult task. To make the outdoor heating effective it is recommended to use gas heaters. Gas heaters generate heat that extends well beyond the area directly under the heater.

2. Choose a heating system that can be controlled from inside the premises. Heaters that can be controlled using remote controls are available today in the market.

3. If the building is being constructed you can plan the layout of the heaters and which heater to use.

4. Before buying heaters enquire about the various types available in the market and it is recommended that one take the advice of a professional.

5. If you are not interested in getting a fixed heater installed, there is an option for portable heaters.

An outdoor heater allows you to use your outdoor entertaining area all year round. Heaters are fast becoming an essential item for outdoor living, and there are several options, both modern and traditional, for heating the patio, courtyard or barbecue area.
