Decorative Door Knobs
Door knobs are one of the main elements to open the door. It is used to hold the door as well as open it and lock it. There are different types of door knobs- for adults' bedroom, children's bedroom, bathroom doors, garden doors, main doors. The door knobs being an important part of the door have many shapes in it. A doorknob is a type of handle which is used to open or close any type of door. Some of the doorknobs have an inbuilt facility to lock the doors while some are used to hold on to it.
Operation:
It is difficult for children to operate doorknobs, mostly infants. A person lacking in a firm grip might encounter a problem to hold a doorknob and have to use two hands. To eliminate this problem a lever is used instead these days. Door knobs are sometimes difficult to turn in small widths from the main frame of the doors. Household doorknobs have a simple mechanism. A simple mechanism includes a screw-style axle which is also called as a spindle. This spindle has at least one flat side. It passes through the door latch. Knobs on both the sides of the doors are attached by screws. Loosing traction of the door knobs is not a big problem. It can be repaired by replacing or adjusting the set screw. This prevents the door knobs from slipping on the spindle.
Door knobs for children's rooms:
The door knobs are placed equidistant from the top and bottom on the door as well as at a sufficient distance from the frame of the door. This distance from the frame is called as the backset. The children's door knobs are very decorative. These may come in various shapes, sizes, colors and with or without inbuilt locks. Some doorknobs are made up of plastic which are not much durable but, are easy to cast while some door knobs are made up of regular metal which is very durable as well as attractive. The door knobs are completely made up of cartoon characters or just the handle. The door knobs along with the themes of the room are available. There are ample amounts of doorknobs in the market.
