New age companion

The computer has evolved from occupying a whole room to occupying a desk to perching on a lap. And man has simultaneously evolved from sharing life with family members to chatting with friends to spending time with a computer. Today's teenager will feel incomplete without a computer.

Computer Unit

The type of computer along with its various parts and accessories dictates the space it will be occupying in a bedroom. A regular desktop will take more space. A computer with an LCD screen will take less space than an ordinary monitor. A laptop will take only storage space that can be accommodated anywhere in the TV unit or a cabinet or a cupboard.

The placement of a computer is an important aspect of the interior of a bedroom. The decision entirely depends on the user, pertaining to his / her habits. Some will prefer it near or next to the bed, which will make it convenient to work while lying down on the bed. While others of the habit of sitting continuously for hours together may like it near the balcony or terrace as it enables an occasional outside view. While placing it inside the bedroom, care should be taken that it is not placed facing a large window or opening; as the light gets reflected on the screen. Care should also be taken the some or the other form of wind ( either fresh air or from fan, AC ) must reach the computer as air circulation is very important for not only the user, but the machine as well.

For keeping the computer, readymade computer tables are available in various shapes and sizes. While selecting one, it should be seen to that there is enough space for all other machines and gadgets like printer, scanner, speakers etc. as well. The main counter should also be large enough not only for the monitor, but additional space should also be there to keep books, files, folders, coffee mugs, plates etc. The color of the computer should be in accordance with the color scheme of the bedroom.

Hitting it off

The computer is the most important machine of a teenage life after a vehicle, since it helps in studies, keeping in touch with friends and managing day-to-day activities.
